Open Letter to Closed Person

Dear Kelsey,

I've been trying to start this letter to you for days. Nothing ever works out the way you plan it, huh?

When I first found out you existed, I was blown away by how frigid you could be to open worship. It was our third (second? third?) date and there was no way that that man could have been any less enthralled by you. At the time. But you must have had your reasons.

Next, I didn't recognize your existence. The end.

And now, I am feeling bad for you. From one reformed girl to another, I feel like you need a hug. I want to be your best friend; it would give us both someone to lean on. I wish that you'd ended up with the guy that would have treated you like gold. And sometimes I wish that he'd wish it too. That's what I wanted to start my letter with...

Kelsey, you should have married my husband when you had the chance.

Because you totally had the chance.

I hope we can be friends someday.

-Holly
